Zusammenfassung:
F\u00fcr \u00d6sterreich als kleine, offene Volkswirtschaft sind Exporte eine entscheidende Komponente der gesamtwirtschaftlichen Nachfrage. Die zunehmende internationale Arbeitsteilung f\u00fchrt jedoch nicht nur zu einem steigenden Exportvolumen, sondern auch zu einer Fragmentierung der Produktion, die mit zunehmendem Einsatz von importierten Vorleistungen in der Produktion verbunden ist und somit potentiell den Wertsch\u00f6pfungsbeitrag (wie auch die Besch\u00e4ftigungsintensit\u00e4t) der Exportwirtschaft verringert. Die vorliegende Kurzstudie untersucht zum einen die Entwicklung der Wertsch\u00f6pfungsintensit\u00e4t sowie die Besch\u00e4ftigungswirkungen \u00f6sterreichischer Exporte im Zeitablauf. For Austria as a small, open economy, exports are a crucial component of aggregate demand. However, the increasing international division of labor not only leads to a rising volume of exports, but also to a fragmentation of production, which is associated with the increasing use of imported intermediate inputs in production and thus potentially reduces the value added contribution (as well as the employment intensity) of the export economy. On the one hand, this brief study examines the development of value-added intensity as well as the employment effects of Austrian exports over time.
