Die \u201eOne Belt, One Road\u201c-Initiative sieht den Ausbau von Stra\u00dfen- und Zugverbindungen sowie von maritimer Infrastruktur vor. Daf\u00fcr kommen mehrere Routen in Frage, die rund 40 L\u00e4nder einschlie\u00dfen. Durch die chinesische \u00dcbernahme von 67 Prozent der Anteile am gr\u00f6\u00dften griechischen Hafen in Pir\u00e4us im Juli 2016 liegt aktuell der geographische Fokus hinesischer Infrastrukturinvestitionen in Europa im Westbalkan. Durch Vertr\u00e4ge oder Absichtserkl\u00e4rungen bekannte Projekte belaufen sich f\u00fcr diese Region auf \u00fcber 10 Milliarden Euro. Kurzfristig k\u00f6nnten sich f\u00fcr \u00d6sterreich Potenziale durch die f\u00fcr Infrastrukturprojekte gefragte heimische Expertise z.B. im Tunnelbau oder in der Forschung, sowie \u00fcber bestehende Handelsverflechtungen mit Zentral- und Osteuropa ergeben. Eine Analyse mittels internationaler Input-Output-Tabellen zeigt leicht positive Effekte f\u00fcr \u00d6sterreich. Aktuelle, durch China finanzierte Projekte im Westbalkan k\u00f6nnten demnach das \u00f6sterreichische Bruttoinlandsprodukt (BIP) aufgrund von Handelsverflechtungen um 0,03 Prozent erh\u00f6hen. Mittelfristig k\u00f6nnte auch die Erh\u00f6hung des Einkommens in den Westbalkanstaaten die Nachfrage nach \u00f6sterreichischen Produkten steigern. The &#8220;One Belt, One Road&#8221; initiative envisages the development of road and rail links as well as maritime infrastructure. Several routes are being considered for this, involving around 40 countries. As a result of the Chinese takeover of 67 percent of the shares in the largest Greek port in Piraeus in July 2016, the geographical focus of hinesian infrastructure investments in Europe is currently in the Western Balkans. Projects known through contracts or letters of intent amount to more than EUR 10 billion for this region. In the short term, Austria could benefit from domestic expertise in infrastructure projects, e.g. in tunnel construction or research, as well as from existing trade links with Central and Eastern Europe. An analysis using international input-output tables shows slightly positive effects for Austria. According to this analysis, current projects in the Western Balkans financed by China could increase Austria&#8217;s gross domestic product (GDP) by 0.03 percent due to trade linkages. In the medium term, increased income in the Western Balkans could also boost demand for Austrian products. In addition, the envisaged infrastructure projects significantly shorten transport times along the Silk Roads.
