Zusammenfassung:
Das Kernelement der Europ\u00e4ischen Integration, der \u201eBinnenmarkt\u201c, feiert heuer das 20-j\u00e4hrige Bestehen. \u00d6sterreich hat seit dem Beitritt zur EU im Jahr 1995 an allen vertiefenden Schritten der EU-Integration teilgenommen. Nicht nur politisch ist \u00d6sterreich durch die EU-Mitgliedschaft moderner, europ\u00e4ischer geworden, es hat auch \u00f6konomisch auf allen Stufen der Integration profitiert: Ost\u00f6ffnung (zus\u00e4tzliches BIP-Wachstum +0,2 Prozentpunkte pro Jahr), EU-Mitgliedschaft (Teilnahme am EU-Binnenmarkt: +0,6 Prozentpunkte), WWU-Teilnahme (+0,4 Prozentpunkte) und EU-Erweiterung (+0,4 Prozentpunkte). Die aus Modellsimulationen abgeleiteten Integrationseffekte durch die Teilnahme an allen Integrationsstufen verst\u00e4rkten das Wachstum des \u00f6sterreichischen BIP insgesamt um \u00bd bis 1 Prozentpunkt pro Jahr. Die Plausibilit\u00e4t dieser Modellergebnisse wird durch den Vergleich der Wirtschaftsentwicklung \u00d6sterreichs mit anderen EU-L\u00e4ndern und Drittl\u00e4ndern unterstrichen. So entsprach der Wachstumsvorsprung \u00d6sterreichs vor Deutschland und der Schweiz den genannten Integrationseffekten. Dieser \u201eWachstumsbonus\u201c ist ohne die Integrationswirkungen der Teilnahme \u00d6sterreichs an allen EU-Projekten schwer bis gar nicht erkl\u00e4rbar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The core element of European integration, the “internal market”, celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. Since joining the EU in 1995, Austria has participated in all deepening steps of EU integration. Not only has Austria become more modern, more European politically as a result of EU membership, it has also benefited economically at all stages of integration: opening to the East (additional GDP growth +0.2 percentage points per year), EU membership (participation in the EU single market: +0.6 percentage points), EMU participation (+0.4 percentage points) and EU enlargement (+0.4 percentage points). The integration effects derived from model simulations due to participation in all integration stages boosted Austrian GDP growth by \u00bd to 1 percentage point per year overall. The plausibility of these model results is underscored by comparing Austria’s economic development with that of other EU countries and third countries. Thus, Austria’s growth advantage over Germany and Switzerland corresponded to the aforementioned integration effects. This “growth bonus” is difficult or even impossible to explain without the integration effects of Austria’s participation in all EU projects.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n
