He has written numerous studies on international trade\, trade p olicy as well as trade and environment issues. In 1999\, Open Economies Rev iew recognized Prof. Fontagné for his joint-contribution to the debate on the endogenous symmetry of shocks in monetary unions. In 2008\, he was awar ded an Emerald Management Reviews Citation of Excellence for his contributi on to the understanding of the economic impact of the competition of emergi ng countries. In 2007 and in 2018 as well\, he was awarded the Research Fel lowship of GTAP (Global Trade Analysis Project\, Purdue University). In 202 3 he was inducted into the GTAP Research Fellow Hall of Fame in recognition of his contributions to trade policy analysis. He is also a CESifo Researc h Fellow (Munich).
