 Does Globalization Reduce Maternal Education’s Health Returns? Evidence f
 rom Nutrition This study re-evaluates the relationship between maternal edu
 cation and the double burden of malnutrition (DBM) in households\, focusing
  on the impact of micro- and macroeconomic factors\, in particular economic
  and social globalization. Using a multilevel analysis based on a decomposi
 tion framework\, the authors challenge the conventional view that maternal

 sor at Paris School of Economics and researcher at INRAE (French National R
 esearch Institute for Agriculture\, Food and the Environment). She is also 
 a research fellow at CESifo. She has received her PhD from the University P
 aris 1 in 2003. She is an Associate Editor at the Review of International E
 conomics. Her research areas are international trade\, trade policy and agr
 icultural and environmental economics. She has published in leading journal
 s such as Review of Economics and Statistics\, Journal of International Eco
 nomics and Journal of Development Economics. Her current research focuses o
 n the hidden costs of globalisation and food transition. Discussant: Kristi
 jan Fidanovski is Economist at wiiw focusing on tobacco taxation in Easter
 n Europe and macroeconomic analysis in the Western Balkans. He holds a PhD 
 from the University of Oxford’s Department of Social Policy and Intervent
 ion and is a former Junior Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Human Scien
 ces in Vienna\, where he has examined the discursive representation\, polic
 y manifestation\, political drivers\, and fertility outcomes of pronatalism
  in (Eastern) Europe. His other research interests include labor market ada
 ptation to population aging\, EU integration\, nationalism\, and electoral 
 systems. This event is co-organised with the European University Institute 
 (EUI) and the Research Centre International Economics (FIW).  The seminar 
 provides a forum for presentation and discussion of recent academic researc
 h in the field of international economics. The event will be recorded.
