 and editor of Borderlex. This Trade Talk will discuss the current politics
 \, political economy and geopolitics of trade policy and how this contribut
 es to ongoing fragmentation trends\, with a particular focus on the role of

 s is a series of events organized by the Research Centre International Econ
 omics (FIW). International economic researchers or high-level policy makers
  are interviewed on current topics in international economics and economic 
 policy. Iana Dreyer Iana Dreyer is the founder and editor of Borderlex\, on
 e of the leading European publications on trade polic. Iana has deep intern
 ational trade policy expertise spanning over fifteen years. Iana steers Bor
 derlex’s editorial activities and particularly likes to write about the p
 olitics shaping EU trade policy\, systemic issues at the World Trade Organi
 zation\, international trade disputes\, the nexus between security and trad
 e and EU-Asian trade relations. Before launching her publishing activity in
  London\, Iana worked as policy analyst in think tanks with a focus on inte
 rnational trade and international energy policy\, consulting on occasion fo
 r governments. Iana has worked with the European Centre for International P
 olitical Economy\, the Institute Montaigne and the EU Institute for Securit
 y Studies. Iana has also worked for the Financial Times group and trained i
 n journalism. Iana has post-graduate degrees from the London School of Econ
 omics and Sciences Po in Paris. A dual French and German citizen with a spe
 cial affinity for the United Kingdom\, Iana currently spends most of her ti
 me between Brussels\, Paris and London. Harald Oberhofer Harald Oberhofer i
 s a Senior Economist at WIFO\, the Austrian Institute of Economic Research.
  He is Professor of Economics at the Vienna University of Economics and Bus
 iness. His research interests include International Economics\, empirical I
 ndustrial Organisation and Applied Econometrics. Harald Oberhofer studied a
 t the University of Innsbruck and holds a doctorate in Economics and Social
  Sciences from the University of Innsbruck. Harald Oberhofer regularly serv
 es as a consultant to international organisations such as the OECD and the 
 World Bank\, where he analyses the impact of institutional regulations on f
 irm performance\, also over the business cycle.
