UNCTAD - TRAINS (Trade Analysis and Information System)

In the UNCTAD TRAINS database you can find data on trade control measures. These annual data comprise:

• tariffs
• para-tariffs
• non-tariff measures
• imports by suppliers at HS 6-digit level

The UNCTAD-TRAINS is a comprehensive computerized information system at the HS-based tariff line level (HS 6-digit). Depending on the country the data are available from 1988 onwards.

These data are reported by 140 countries.

You can not access the UNCTAD TRAINS via the FIW Data Tool.

The access to the UNCTAD-TRAINS is ensured through a special software called WITS (The World Integrated Trade Solution). This software is installed on a computer the Project Office (WIFO) as well as at the wiiw. You are kindly asked to register first, then you will be contacted to make an appointment to download the data (usually during working hours).
